Soldier’s suicide leaves a family with questions

On May 6, 2016, First Lt. David Bauders died in what the U.S. Army described as a “non-combat related incident.”

At the time of the news reports, condolences poured out.

“Rest in peace, Warrior,” a commenter wrote.

“Bless this brave soul,” wrote another.

At his funeral, his mother was given his Army commendation medal for his “tireless work ethic.”
