Continued story of Sgt. Joshua Brennan and Sgt. Sal Giunta

There has been a development in the story of a local soldier who died from his wounds during an ambush in Afghanistan in 2007.

Sgt. Joshua Brennan, Ontario High School graduate Class of 2003, was several nights into a mission with his B Company, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment in the Korengal Valley, Afghanistan, when his unit was ambushed. Joshua and platoon medic Spc. Hugo Mendoza were critically wounded and were being carried off by the Taliban when then Spc. Salvatore Giunta charged headlong throwing grenades and shooting the insurgents to get back the bodies of both Joshua and Hugo, who both later died from their wounds.
