Corvallis High School students plant flowers at veterans memorial
Corvallis High School student Jasmine Henry planted petunias, marigolds and geraniums Wednesday at the Benton County Veterans Memorial, honoring her grandfather, who served in the Vietnam War.
“By contributing to this memorial, I feel like I’m contributing to what he did over there,” said the 17-year-old Henry.
Henry was one of more than 60 high school juniors who planted flowers at the memorial in front of the Corvallis National Guard Armory in anticipation of a Memorial Day celebration.
