World War II vet celebrates his years of milestones
Urban Kluthe, 98, of Beaverton, wiped tears from his face and said, “… anyway, I never thought this would ever happen — oh my gosh. I’m overwhelmed.”
Kluthe’s poker buddy and friend, John MacInnis, planned an extravagant surprise birthday party for the World War II veteran on April 13, complete with honors bestowed on Kluthe by Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle and the Beaverton Police Honor Guard.
