LBCC veterans boost community outreach
Samantha Fergus spent six years on active duty with the Navy, stationed at the base in Kitsap, Washington, as a culinary specialist.
Now 27 and studying business and sociology at Linn-Benton Community College, Fergus isn’t done serving her country. And neither are her fellow members of the LBCC Veterans Club.
The club is making a concerted effort to reach out through community service efforts, helping a family move from a condemned home last term and spending two days volunteering at St. Mary’s Soup Kitchen at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albany so far this term.
